GACC Registration for Food Product Export to China
To export food products from India (or any country) to China, manufacturers and exporters must obtain registration with the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). This is a mandatory compliance requirement for customs clearance and market entry in China.
Who Needs GACC Registration?

All overseas food manufacturers, processors, and storage facilities exporting to China.

Categories include both low-risk (e.g., snacks, beverages) and high-risk products (e.g., meat, seafood, dairy, health foods, grains, oils).

Process for GACC Registration:

Determine HS Code & Category – Check whether the food product falls under high-risk (requires competent authority recommendation) or low-risk (self-application).

Application Filing – Submit application via the China Single Window System.

Documentation Required:

Business license/Company registration certificate

Manufacturing license (if applicable)

HACCP/ISO/FSSAI or equivalent certifications

Registration is generally valid for 5 years, subject to renewal.
